Wike Warns Satellite Town Coordinator – I Don’t Like Praise Singers, Do Your Job

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), issued a stern warning to Abdulkadir Zulkiflu, the Coordinator of Satellite Towns Development Department (STDD), cautioning him against engaging in negotiations with contractors. He emphasized to the coordinator that his role is to coordinate, liaise, and provide briefings to the minister, rather than engaging directly with contractors. Wike asserted that any attempt by Zulkiflu to negotiate with contractors would result in necessary actions being taken.

“It is your business to coordinate, liaise and brief me as the minister of the FCT. You are not sent there to sit in your office and begin to negotiate with contractors. If I find out, I will not hesitate to take necessary action,” Wike stated firmly.

The minister underscored the FCT Administration’s commitment to ensuring that all satellite towns experience the impact of government initiatives. He urged Zulkiflu to seize the opportunity to deliver tangible results and make a significant impact, noting the numerous ongoing projects in the satellite towns.

Wike emphasized that effective performance by Zulkiflu would contribute to fulfilling the objectives of President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda. He urged the coordinator to focus on executing his duties diligently, stating his aversion to sycophancy and preference for actions that speak for themselves.

“Mine is, do your work. If you do your work, everybody will see that you are doing your work. I don’t like praise singers. Your action will speak for you. Now that FCTA is seriously involved in the development of satellite towns, make sure that things are done very well,” Wike concluded.
