Dismissing the accusations of ethnic discrimination, Wike shed light on the questionable circumstances surrounding the allocation of the disputed land. He pointed out that the land was allocated during a period of ministerial transition, lacking the necessary approvals. Such procedural irregularities cast doubt on the legitimacy of the allocation.

Moreover, Wike revealed that stakeholders had unanimously agreed to halt any development on the contested land pending a final decision. However, Ukachukwu’s premature sale of land parcels preempted this consensus, leading to swift action by the authorities.

The demolition, part of a broader crackdown on illegal structures across Abuja, underscores the administration’s commitment to enforcing lawful development. The Directorate of Road Transport Services (DRTS) of the FCTA also conducted similar operations at the Area 3 Taxi Rank, targeting unauthorized establishments.
