Nigerian-British businessman and associate of Afrobeats star Davido, Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo, popularly known as Ego, has died in Thailand following complications reportedly linked to a cosmetic procedure.

According to Ireporter Online, the 43-year-old businessman and social media personality died in March 2026 after undergoing a penis enlargement procedure at an unnamed clinic while on a luxury holiday in Thailand with his wife, Danielle Simba Allen.

An inquest at the Inner West London Coroner’s Court reportedly heard that Ego had received injections containing 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine as part of the procedure.

Following the treatment, Ego was staying with his wife at a Marriott hotel in Bangkok when he reportedly complained of chest pain and lost consciousness twice. He was subsequently rushed to Sukhumvit Hospital, where his wife informed medical personnel about the cosmetic procedure and the injections he had received.

Ego reportedly lost consciousness before doctors could carry out a recommended CT scan. Medical personnel later determined that he had suffered a pulmonary embolism, a potentially fatal blockage of a blood vessel in the lungs, and transferred him to intensive care.

Despite efforts by doctors, including more than 100 minutes of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, Ego died in the early hours of March 6.

A postmortem examination conducted in the United Kingdom reportedly found cellular material in his lungs that matched the hyaluronic acid used during the cosmetic procedure.

Coroner Jean Harkin subsequently ruled that Ego’s death was caused by a pulmonary embolism linked to the cosmetic procedure.

Ego, who was known for frequently showcasing his affluent lifestyle on social media, was later laid to rest in the presence of family, friends and associates.

Speaking at his funeral on Saturday, Davido described the loss as “heavy”, adding that the circumstances surrounding Ego’s death still did not feel real to him.

Lagos socialite Cubana Chief Priest also paid tribute to the deceased in a social media post accompanying footage from the funeral.

He wrote, “Rest Easy Brother @ego2222. Even In Death, The Lifestyle Was Kept 700 For You.”

He added that London had “stood still” in honour of Ego, while celebrating the memories they shared and asking the deceased to watch over those he left behind.
