Yobe APC Backs Bola Ahmed Tinubu For Second Term Bid

According to Ireporter Online, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State has formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The decision was reached on Thursday during a stakeholders’ meeting held in Damaturu, where party leaders and members unanimously backed the motion. The endorsement was moved by Senate President Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan and seconded by the Speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly, Chiroma Buba Mashio, before receiving widespread approval from stakeholders present at the gathering.

Speaking at the event, Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni stated that the state has recorded significant progress due to its alignment with the ruling party at the federal level. He noted that since 2015, the partnership has contributed to reconstruction efforts and accelerated recovery initiatives aimed at improving the lives of residents.

The governor urged citizens to maintain their support for the APC and rally behind President Tinubu’s re-election ambition, emphasizing the importance of continuity in governance. He also praised party members for sustaining peaceful political engagement, describing the atmosphere in the state as a testament to political maturity and unity.

Buni further highlighted that despite differing political views, stakeholders in the state have consistently avoided violence, reflecting the long-standing philosophy of “Politics without Bitterness,” associated with the late Waziri Ibrahim. He expressed gratitude to the people of Yobe for their resilience and unwavering support for government initiatives, as well as to security personnel for their sacrifices in restoring relative peace across the state.

The endorsement is seen as an early sign of political mobilization by the APC in Yobe State as preparations gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 elections.
