Yul Edochie Slams Critics Of Igbo Backing Bola Tinubu

Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has criticised what he described as targeted attacks against Igbo individuals who have expressed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as political alignments continue to take shape ahead of the 2027 general election.

According to Ireporter Online, the actor, in a post shared on X, raised concerns over what he termed selective criticism within the Igbo community, noting that individuals from the region who support the president are often singled out for backlash, unlike supporters from other parts of the country.

He questioned the apparent imbalance in political discourse, asking why similar scrutiny is not directed at supporters of the president from other ethnic groups, including those from the North and the South-West.

Edochie further emphasised that political differences should not fuel division among people of the same ethnic background, urging critics to embrace tolerance, mutual respect, and a broader national outlook when engaging in political debates.

In his strongly worded remarks, the actor condemned those he accused of publicly attacking fellow Igbos over their political stance, while remaining silent on supporters of the same candidate from other regions.

His comments come amid growing conversations and shifting loyalties as stakeholders begin early positioning ahead of the next general election cycle.
