Idris clarified that while the government values responsible media coverage for its role in enlightening and informing the public, spreading falsehoods and misinformation does not constitute genuine press freedom. He reiterated President Tinubu’s recognition of the media’s importance in promoting transparency and accountability through credible and timely reporting.
