Their sole target was Malam Kabiru, who, along with his elder brother Tukur Mohammed, attempted to conceal themselves in the ceiling. Despite their efforts to remain hidden, the gunmen discovered Malam Kabiru and callously ended his life before setting the house ablaze.
The intensity of the fire prevented the recovery of Malam Kabiru’s body, plunging the community into shock and mourning. Alhaji Aminu Sani Marke, the councillor of Dandamisa Ward, confirmed the incident, expressing dismay at the extensive destruction caused by the assailants.
According to reports, the gunmen ransacked the village for approximately an hour, looting valuables worth millions of naira before fleeing the scene. Malam Kabiru Muhammad, aged 30, had been turbaned as the village head of Marke in 2018, and his untimely demise has left a void in the community.
