Breaking: Kidnap Plot Shattered! Kogi Deputy Governor Leads Security Forces To Rescue In Ejule

An attempted kidnapping of passengers traveling along Ejule and Ochadamu roads in Kogi State was thwarted on Thursday by the convoy of Deputy Governor Joel Salifu. The Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Emmanuel Unubi, confirmed the event in a statement, revealing that the suspects had targeted an 18-seater BD Express Bus en route from Otukpo, Benue State, to Lagos.

Unubi detailed how security personnel from the Deputy Governor’s convoy responded swiftly after receiving an alert, preventing the abduction. The Nigerian Army, Police, and local vigilante groups were subsequently notified, and the Deputy Governor ordered them to pursue and apprehend the kidnappers for prosecution.

Expressing concern over the persistent kidnapping attempts in the area, Salifu directed security forces to set up a permanent checkpoint at the location. He emphasized the state government’s commitment under Governor Usman Ododo to eliminate criminal activities and restore peace.

The Deputy Governor also called on the youth in Ejule, Ochadamu, and neighboring communities to avoid criminal behavior and report any suspicious activities, stressing that maintaining security is a shared responsibility. He warned perpetrators to desist immediately or face legal consequences.
