Senator Tofowomo Criticizes Ondo PDP Leadership Amid Growing Internal Crisis

Akure — The internal turmoil within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has intensified, as Senator Nicholas Tofowomo sharply criticized the party’s leadership, accusing them of betrayal and undermining party unity.

Tofowomo stated, “The party’s leadership owes Mr. Peretei a sincere apology for the deceit and betrayal he experienced. He was expressly invited to vie for the position of state chairman. If that invitation had not come from the leadership itself, I would not be this upset.”

He further lamented the PDP’s poor performance in the last election, where the party failed to secure victory in all 18 local government areas of the state. “The outcome was 18-0. Are we now shifting the blame for our total loss to me? What about the party’s candidate who couldn’t even win in his own ward?” he questioned.

Senator Tofowomo reaffirmed his loyalty to the PDP, emphasizing his longstanding commitment and contributions. “I remain a dedicated and dues-paying member of this party. But what we witnessed was a gross mishandling of leadership responsibilities, and it cost us dearly,” he concluded.
