According to reports by Punch, a parent of another student, who opted to remain anonymous, revealed that the tragic incident unfolded as Meshack was on his way to fetch water from a tap within the school premises. Unbeknownst to him, he stepped on an electric cable that had tripped off an electric pole, resulting in the fatal electrocution.

The concerned parent expressed dismay over the lack of action taken by the school management to address the hazardous situation even after the unfortunate event. Despite the involvement of the police, the school purportedly attempted to alter the narrative, suggesting that Meshack had attempted to jump the fence when the incident occurred.

The school’s vice principal, Mrs. Dogo Suzie, refuted claims that the school had propagated such a narrative and encouraged journalists to visit the school premises to gather accurate information.

Confirming the incident, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, disclosed that an investigation was underway.
