Police executed a search at a residence on Railroad Avenue in Amityville late Monday evening, March 4. While no human remains were found at the property, additional dismembered limbs were discovered hidden in Bethpage State Park and miles away in a wooded area of West Babylon, according to a statement from the Suffolk County Police Department on Tuesday, March 5.

Authorities believe that the newly found remains are connected to the same two individuals whose body parts were found on February 29 in Southards Pond Park in Babylon.

Though the victims have not been publicly identified, investigators revealed that the dismembered limbs belonged to a 59-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man, both residents of Yonkers in Westchester County.

The statement emphasized that the incident appears to be isolated, with no perceived threat to public safety, as investigations persist.

While authorities declined to speculate on a motive for the killings, they are exploring potential links to a love triangle.

The unsettling discovery began last Thursday morning when a young girl stumbled upon a dismembered left arm while walking to school with friends near Siegal Boulevard in Babylon. Her father reported the finding to the police.

On Monday night, officers conducted a forceful entry into a unit on Railroad Avenue around 10:30 p.m. Witnesses described a scene of intense police activity, with individuals being detained from the property.

Subsequent searches in the vicinity led to the recovery of more body parts, including two unattached heads, intensifying the ongoing investigation.
