Wike-Backed PDP Faction Names Presidential Candidate, Uploads Details On INEC Portal

According to Ireporter Online, the faction’s National Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed, disclosed the development in a statement released on Sunday, describing the move as a major milestone in the party’s preparations for the upcoming elections.

Mohammed stated that the submission demonstrated the faction’s commitment to participating fully in the electoral process and fulfilling its promise to remain active ahead of the 2027 polls.

He said the party leadership had successfully completed the upload of the names of its presidential candidate, vice-presidential candidate, and National Assembly nominees on the INEC platform, adding that the development marked another important stage in the party’s election strategy.

The PDP faction chairman explained that the action reflected the determination of the leadership to strengthen the party and ensure effective participation in the next general elections.

He further revealed that the upload process for governorship and State House of Assembly candidates was still ongoing.

Mohammed congratulated PDP members nationwide and abroad on the achievement, assuring them that efforts were underway to build a stronger and more united party ahead of the elections.

Meanwhile, a screenshot of the INEC Candidate Nomination Portal released alongside the statement showed that the faction’s dashboard had generated 410 new candidate forms. The record indicated that 367 forms had already been submitted, while 42 were still pending as of the time of the announcement.
