During an appearance on the Channels Television program, Morning Brief, Ade, who has a German-American mother and a Nigerian father of Yoruba descent, emphasized her preference for the English language. She insisted that English is the primary language known in Nigeria and sometimes feels uncomfortable with demands to speak Yoruba.

“Speaking Yoruba is draining, sometimes it hurts my nerves. The first language that we know in Nigeria is English. Let’s put all the other languages aside,” she remarked.

Despite her sentiments, Ade acknowledged the value of her Nigerian heritage, crediting her father for introducing her to Nigerian culture and language.

While her remarks may spark debate, they reflect her personal perspective on language and cultural identity.
