Angry Mob Assault Policeman For Pushing Man Into Moving BRT Bus

The incident unfolded as the police officer was purportedly involved in pushing a civilian named Yusuf into a moving Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicle at Ketu.

Reportedly occurring at Ketu Bus Stop, the incident caused significant harm to Yusuf’s left arm, resulting in a serious injury.

A witness recounted that the police officer, alongside a fellow officer, had reportedly been trying to seize Yusuf’s vehicle, which led to them forcing Yusuf into the BRT lane. This action subsequently led to a collision with one of the BRT buses using that lane, causing Yusuf to be struck and crumple due to the force of the impact.

The observer, identified as Kinsley Abba, held the police officers responsible for the unfortunate situation Yusuf found himself in, further noting that Yusuf sustained various additional injuries due to the accident.

Abba shared, “The furious crowd took matters into their own hands, subjecting the police officer to physical punishment until he lost consciousness. What’s particularly distressing is that the officers helped their fellow officer and rushed him to the hospital, but they left Yusuf to endure his suffering. He was left unconscious on the road.”

Another onlooker, who chose to remain anonymous, recounted that following the realization that Yusuf had been struck by the BRT and injured, the police officers attempted to flee the scene. However, the angry mob managed to capture one of them and proceeded to beat him severely.
