Anthony Joshua To Make Boxing Comeback In 2025, Says Eddie Hearn
Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua’s promoter, has officially announced that the former two-time heavyweight boxing champion is set to make his return to the ring in 2025. This follows Joshua’s recent heavy loss to rival Daniel Dubois, which dealt a significant blow to...READ MORE…
his hopes of regaining dominance in the boxing world.
Joshua, who turned 35 in October, is at a pivotal point in his career. Despite speculation that this defeat might signal his retirement, Hearn dismissed such ideas, emphasizing that Joshua remains committed to boxing. Hearn noted, “Anthony loves boxing; he’d fight forever if he could.”
After a strong start to 2023 with four wins, Joshua’s loss to Dubois in March 2024 forced him to reconsider his path. Hearn explained that Joshua needs time to recharge after multiple bouts in a short span. He revealed that Joshua will begin training in January 2025, with a return to the ring possible in April or May.
Joshua’s comeback will not include “tune-up” fights, as Hearn believes that Joshua is beyond needing warm-up matches. Instead, the focus is on high-profile bouts. Joshua’s future largely depends on upcoming fights involving Tyson Fury and Daniel Dubois, whose outcomes could influence the timeline for potential matchups.
