With Arsenal already leading 2-0 thanks to goals from Gabriel Magalhaes and Leandro Trossard, Saka was fouled in the box and handed the ball to Odegaard, allowing the captain to net his first goal of the season. Speaking about the decision, Saka said: “Odegaard wanted to take the penalty, and I was more than happy to give it to him. He’s always supportive and creates chances for me. We share a great connection, and Martin is a phenomenal player.”

Later in the match, Saka converted a second penalty before halftime, contributing to Arsenal’s dominant performance.

Meanwhile, Arsenal legend Martin Keown offered advice to manager Mikel Arteta on what the Gunners must do to stay competitive in the Premier League title race. Arsenal’s win over West Ham lifted them to second place, ahead of Manchester City and behind league leaders Liverpool.

Keown stressed the importance of consistency, stating: “To truly contend for the title, Arsenal need to win seven or eight matches before January. It’s a critical period.”
