Shettima joined Nigerians and the people of Akwa Ibom State on Friday to pay tribute to Mrs. Eno, wife of Governor Umo Bassey Eno.

Describing her as a woman of deep faith, compassion, and transformative leadership, Shettima highlighted her immense contributions to society, particularly through her pastoral care and charitable initiatives like the Golden Initiative for All (GIFA), which provided vital resources to the underprivileged.

Speaking at her funeral in Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium local government area, the Vice President lauded Mrs. Eno as a silent yet profound leader whose legacy of service and selflessness would inspire others for years to come.

“Today, we celebrate the life of an extraordinary woman who contributed significantly to the peace, stability, and progress of Akwa Ibom, the South-South region, and Nigeria as a whole. She was a pillar of strength to her family, community, and the nation, and she will be deeply missed,” he said.

Shettima, who represented President Bola Tinubu at the ceremony, prayed for strength and comfort for Governor Umo Eno, the Senate President, and the people of Akwa Ibom State as they mourn their loss.

Reflecting on Mrs. Eno’s legacy, he emphasized her role in advancing women’s leadership in Nigeria, not through titles but through action. “She lived a life of quiet sacrifices, selfless giving, and unwavering dedication to God, her community, and humanity,” he added.
