Osita Chidoka, founder of the Athena Centre, presented the findings on Channels Television’s Politics Today, claiming the election results should not have been upheld due to substantial evidence of systemic rigging.

In response, Okpebholo’s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, accused the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Chidoka of attempting to intimidate the judiciary into overturning the election results. He dismissed the analysis as baseless and part of a calculated propaganda campaign.

Countering these claims, Obaseki’s Media Adviser, Crusoe Osagie, described the program as a revealing exposé of electoral fraud. He alleged widespread manipulation, including inflated voter figures and discrepancies between INEC’s certified results and data on its Result Viewing Portal (IReV).

According to Osagie, the analysis uncovered irregularities such as:

• Inflated accredited voter numbers by over 100,000 in 798 polling units.
• A mismatch in polling officer reports, with 580,000 accredited voters recorded versus INEC’s backend figure of 687,000.
• A forensic review showing the PDP’s votes were reduced by 11,665, while APC’s tally was increased by 32,284.

Obaseki’s camp maintains that these findings highlight an intentional subversion of the people’s will and has expressed confidence in the judiciary’s ability to address these irregularities. They vowed to reclaim the mandate allegedly stolen in the September 21 election.

The former governor criticized the APC for undermining democracy and prioritizing political gains over the interests of the people, asserting that the party’s attempts to normalize electoral fraud will not stand.
