Speaking at a homecoming reception organized by the Esan people in Edo Central at the Esan Central Local Government Council Secretariat, the governor expressed gratitude to Edo residents for their overwhelming support.

Okpebholo dismissed his critics as “criminals” who continue to waste resources on fruitless attempts to challenge the election outcome, emphasizing that Edo people have chosen peace, unity, and development.

“It’s ironic that those who spread false results online are now crying about rigging,” Okpebholo remarked. “The criminals are upset because they lost and will keep losing, wasting money and energy in vain.”

He extended appreciation to President Bola Tinubu, the APC leadership, and the Esan people for their unwavering support, pledging to deliver development and uphold justice throughout his tenure.

“I will not disappoint the people of Edo or Esan. You voted for me, and I will ensure your trust is not misplaced,” he said.

Traditional rulers, including the Onojie of Uromi, HRH Anselm Aidenojie II, also expressed joy at Esan’s triumph in producing the state governor, praising the unity and efforts of the region in achieving this milestone.

APC State Chairman Jarret Tenebe commended the governor for his proactive approach since inauguration, claiming it signals a return to governance after what he described as eight years of stagnation.

The event was attended by traditional rulers, government officials, party members, and other dignitaries, marking a celebratory moment for the Esan community and the state at large.
