I Go Remain Single?” — Military Lady Laments As Civilians Fear Approaching Her
A military woman has expressed frustration over what she described as the reluctance of civilians to approach or interact freely with her whenever they encounter her.
According to Ireporter Online, the woman said she had become puzzled by the way some civilians behave around her, noting that many appear uncomfortable or afraid to engage her in ordinary conversations.
She observed that instead of greeting her casually or addressing her by her name, some people often use formal titles such as “ma” or “officer” whenever they speak to her.
The military woman said the situation had left her wondering whether civilians’ perception of her profession could also affect her chances of finding a romantic partner.
Expressing her frustration in a light-hearted manner, she said she could not understand why some civilians were seemingly afraid to approach her or even initiate a simple conversation.
She questioned why people could not simply greet her normally or introduce themselves instead of treating every interaction as a formal encounter.
The woman also jokingly wondered why admirers could not ask for her phone number or express their interest in getting to know her on a personal level.
Her remarks appeared to be an attempt to encourage civilians, particularly potential admirers, to feel more relaxed around her despite her military uniform and profession.
The comments have sparked conversations about how people in uniform are sometimes perceived as intimidating, even when they are outside official duties or social settings.
The military woman’s humorous complaint has also drawn attention to the challenges some uniformed personnel may face in their personal and social lives, particularly when their profession creates a perception of authority or strictness.
