Bashir El-Rufai Blast Governor Uba Sani Over Complaints Of His father leaving behind A Huge Debt
Bashir El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has voiced criticism against Governor Uba Sani, the successor to his father’s administration, for lamenting the significant debt left behind……READ ALSO What I’ll Do If Peter Obi Becomes President – El-Rufai’s Son, Bashir
Governor Uba Sani recently expressed concern over the substantial debt burden inherited from the previous administration, citing figures of $587 million and N85 billion in debt, along with 115 contractual liabilities. Despite this, he reaffirmed the commitment to steering Kaduna State towards progress and development.
In response, Bashir El-Rufai highlighted what he perceives as the current administration’s extravagance, particularly citing the construction of a banquet hall for N7 billion while bemoaning the inherited debt. He underscored the irony of this situation, given that Governor Uba Sani, as a former Senator from Kaduna, played a role in lobbying for and approving these loans.
Furthermore, Bashir criticized what he sees as the incompetence of the current administration, pointing out inefficiencies ranging from the Governor’s purported frequent absences to the alleged incompetence of his aides. He suggested that rather than addressing these issues directly, the administration resorts to deflecting blame onto its predecessors.
This exchange underscores the ongoing political tensions and scrutiny surrounding governance in Kaduna State, with accusations and counter-accusations highlighting broader concerns about fiscal responsibility and effective leadership.
