SP Ahmed Wakil, the spokesperson for the Command, revealed these developments in a statement issued on Sunday in Bauchi.

The arrests mark a significant stride in the command’s unwavering campaign against kidnapping and other serious crimes, yielding commendable results.

The case came to light on March 7, 2024, when Yahaya Adamu, a resident of Badakoshi village in Bauchi LGA, approached the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) of the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department, reporting a distressing incident.

Adamu recounted an alarming episode that unfolded on March 4, wherein an anonymous caller demanded a ransom of N5 million, threatening to abduct either Adamu or his family members if the demand wasn’t met.

In a chilling development, the purported kidnappers later provided their bank account details via a Point of Sale (POS) business account to facilitate the payment, demonstrating knowledge of Adamu’s assets and family, and issuing further threats to enforce compliance.

In response to the report, Commissioner of Police, Mr. Auwal Musa, directed the CID to conduct a discreet investigation into the matter, leveraging modern technology to trace and apprehend the suspects.

The trio, identified as Haro Adamu (35), Aliyu Saidu (40), and Musa Umaru (35), hailing from Birnin Kudu town in Jigawa and Kaltunga in Plateau State, were taken into custody following meticulous investigative work.
