Chad’s government to take decisive military action against them.
Zulum noted that while Chad successfully repelled the insurgents, many crossed into Nigeria, particularly into Borno State.
“Recently, Boko Haram attacked Chadian soldiers, and in response, the Chadian authorities implemented strong measures to repel them. As a result, many of the insurgents have moved to Nigeria, particularly Borno State,” Zulum stated.
Despite this development, Zulum commended the Nigerian federal government, military, and security forces for their significant strides in curbing insurgency in the North-East. He reported that over 90% of Boko Haram activities have been curtailed in Borno but acknowledged the presence of smaller insurgent groups in the Lake Chad region, Sambisa Forest, and Mandara Hills.
The governor expressed confidence that with ongoing collaboration between Nigeria and its neighboring countries—Cameroon, Chad, Niger, and Mali—terrorism could be fully eradicated within the next two years.
