Davis, who was last seen active and in good spirits at the Ibadan Golf Club earlier in the week, played a significant role in the ABN, particularly during the controversial events surrounding the annulment of the June 12, 1993, presidential election. Under the leadership of Arthur Nzeribe, the ABN played a part in the events that led to the cancellation of what was considered Nigeria’s freest and fairest election, won by Chief MKO Abiola.

Apart from his political involvement, Davis was also a prominent figure in the golfing community of Ibadan, known for his passion for the sport. His sudden demise occurred at his residence in the Jericho area of Ibadan.

Born on September 29, 1957, Davis was the Chairman/CEO of Capital 3 Limited, a consulting firm focusing on retail market development, and also chaired Books & Sports Limited, a company involved in film and entertainment production. He served as the Chairman of the Policy Commission on Solid Minerals, aimed at advancing the development of solid minerals in Nigeria.

An avid golfer, Davis was also the President of the PoolPlayers Conference of Nigeria and played a significant role in signing Nigeria up to participate in pool at the Olympic Games in 2005.

Davis is survived by his wife, Olayinka Apeeti Motunrayo, and their children. As news of his passing spreads, members of the Ibadan Golf Club and the wider community are mourning the loss of a vibrant personality known for his contributions to both the political and sporting spheres of Nigeria.
