BREAKING: FG Goes Begging Over Planned Nationwide Strike By NLC

NEC

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, once again implored the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) to reconsider its planned industrial action.

He made this appeal on Thursday after the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Mutfwang encouraged the organized labor leadership to exercise patience and allow more time for dialogue.

He further revealed that the well-being of Nigerian workers would be among the topics addressed by President Bola Tinubu in his inaugural Independence Day address to the nation on Sunday.

This appeal comes in the wake of the NLC and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) announcing an indefinite strike scheduled to commence on Tuesday, October 3.

The unions have also called on their state chapters to mobilize for protests nationwide.

The leaders of both labor centers have resolved their differences, which previously led only the NLC to undertake a two-day warning strike without TUC’s participation.
