BREAKING: Sani, APC Loses Motion As Tribunal Gives Ruling In Ashiru, PDP’s Petition (DETAILS)
The Kaduna Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has dismissed the second preliminary objection lodged by Governor Uba Sani and the All Progressives Congress (APC) seeking to dismiss the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Isah Mohammed Ashiru.
Governor Sani and the APC, who are the second and third respondents in the case, argued that the petitioners had abandoned their petition.
However, the Tribunal rejected this motion.

The Tribunal is now focusing on deliberating the main petition.
The PDP is contesting the election of Uba Sani as the Governor of Kaduna State on the grounds of alleged irregularities and electoral fraud, asserting that their candidate, Isa Mohammed Ashiru, was the rightful winner.
During the petition hearing, the PDP and Ashiru presented 24 witnesses along with claims and documents to substantiate their case.
At the conclusion of the hearing, all parties presented their final written addresses before the Tribunal. APC’s Uba Sani claimed that the petitioners inadvertently aided in proving that he won the March 18 governorship election. Uba Sani’s legal team, led by former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Bayo Ojo, SAN, contended that the petitioners inadvertently assisted in demonstrating that he won the election fairly and squarely. They pointed to the admission of a star witness for the petitioner, Bonett Gwazah, a senior system analyst in the VR/ICT Department of INEC in Kaduna State.
In their final address, the PDP and Ashiru argued that two conflicting election results were issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the governorship election in the state. Ashiru, represented by his lead counsel, Oluwole Iyamu, SAN, claimed that INEC was responsible for the manipulation of election results. He also alleged overvoting and abuse of electoral processes, thus requesting the reversal of the INEC declaration that led to Governor Uba Sani’s victory.
