BREAKING: Southern Governor Suspends Foreign Trips For Govt Officials (SEE WHY)

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has directed the suspension of foreign trips for government officials in his administration for the remainder of the year, except in cases of emergencies.

This directive was issued during a meeting with members of the State Executive Council, where discussions were held on the 2024 budget proposals from various ministries, departments, and agencies.

This meeting serves as a prelude to the submission of the Medium Term Expenditure Framework to the State House of Assembly in Osogbo.

Governor Adeleke emphasized the need for all members of the administration to exhibit a willingness to make sacrifices in light of the state’s challenging financial situation. He also urged cabinet members to be prepared to make personal sacrifices.

Furthermore, the governor stressed the importance of avoiding excessive spending on recurrent and overhead expenses saying, “We must sustain the momentum of our service delivery by avoiding excessive spending on recurrent and overheads.”

“Our needs from office to accommodation are much, but our resources are limited. So we have to devise a coping mechanism pending the time our funding situation will improve.”
