CNG Initiative Will Not Be Undermined,’ Tinubu’s Social Media Aide Insists

Dada addressed the issue in a post on his X handle. He explained the reasons behind Malaysia’s decision, emphasizing that it was not related to the safety of CNG itself but rather due to the age of many vehicles and the unsafe conversion to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

He wrote, “There are two main reasons for Malaysia’s decision:

  • The majority of vehicles have exceeded their 15-year service life.
  • Many owners improperly converted vehicles to LPG, which poses serious risks.

Dada further clarified that the CNG tanks in use in Malaysia differ significantly from those being utilized in Nigeria. He concluded by stating, “The effort to discredit this initiative is intentional, but rest assured, it will not succeed. Responsible journalism is key, and this misinformation is far from constructive.”
