The list of wanted persons, comprising terrorists, bandits, and insurgent commanders, spans across various zones in the country, including the North East, North West, North Central, and South-East. Despite the gravity of the accusations, the military authorities refrained from placing bounties on the wanted individuals.
A significant portion of the wanted list originates from the North West zone, which has been grappling with issues such as banditry and kidnapping. Among those declared wanted are notorious bandit leaders such as Alhaji Shingi, Malindi Yakubu, Boka, Dogo Gide, and Halilu Sububu, among others.
In the North East region, which has been plagued by the activities of Boko Haram and Islamic State for West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists, 33 individuals were declared wanted. The list includes prominent terrorist commanders like Abu Zaida, Modu Sulum, Baba Data, and Ahmad, among others.
Additionally, 21 insurgents, militants, and violent criminals were declared wanted in the North Central and South East regions. Notable figures in the South East include Factional IPOB leader Simon Ekpa, Obiemesi Chukwudi alias Dan Chuk, David Ezekwem Chidiebube, and Amobi Chinonso Okafor alias Temple.
The declaration of these individuals as wanted underscores the commitment of the Defence Headquarters to curbing the activities of insurgents and other threats to national security across various regions of the country.
