EFCC Identifies as Christian, Sparks Reactions From Nigerians After Social Media Post.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has caused a stir on social media with a recent post quoting a Bible verse. On Sunday, the agency shared a verse from Jeremiah 17:11 as part of a warning against illegal wealth. The verse states: “Like a partridge that hatches eggs she has not laid, so are those who get their wealth by unjust means. The post has sparked mixed reactions among Nigerians. Some criticized the EFCC for mixing religion with its anti-corruption efforts and urged the agency to stay neutral in religious matters. Others, however, agreed with the message and suggested it should be directed at corrupt politicians.
