Dr. Abdulkadir was tragically killed in his office on the campus by assailants who gained entry unnoticed. His body was discovered the following day, showing signs of injuries.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Nahun Daso, the attackers also made away with the lecturer’s vehicle, phone, and laptop. Despite the poor quality of the CCTV footage, investigators were able to observe the suspects leaving the university premises in the victim’s vehicle.
Daso further stated that investigations are ongoing into the matter to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Prof. Danjuma Gambo, Director of Radio and Public Relations at UNIMAID, speaking on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Shugaba, assured the public that the university is cooperating with security agencies to unravel the circumstances surrounding Dr. Abdulkadir’s death.
He urged staff and students to remain calm and continue with their usual activities, emphasizing that the campus remains safe and secure for teaching, learning, and community engagement.
