El-Rufai’s Shocking Claim: Bandits Will Get Paid To Release Kidnapped Victims
Former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has expressed concern over the federal government’s approach to combating banditry.
In his reaction to the recent abductions of Wakilin Fulani of Janjala, Alhaji Atah Adamu Wakili, a nursing mother, and 37 other residents of the Janjala community in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, El-Rufai criticized the government’s handling of the situation..…….READ MORE
The abductions occurred on Sunday, when bandits, dressed in army uniforms, stormed the community. The attackers moved from house to house, also rustling cattle.
A source revealed to Daily Trust that the bandits abducted Wakilin Fulani, his wives, his eldest son, Abubakar, and 37 other villagers. The source further mentioned that, despite some troops from Kagarko arriving and firing shots into the air, the bandits had already fled with their victims and the stolen livestock.
Reacting to a post from an user who lamented the government’s failure to act swiftly, El-Rufai suggested that the government would likely resort to paying the bandits to secure the release of the victims.
On his handle, El-Rufai wrote: “Don’t worry, the bandits will be paid to release them quickly, and then the NSA will hand over the victims to the state government in a grand ceremony. Propaganda beats good governance.”
He further stated, “This will financially empower the terrorists, enabling them to buy even more advanced weapons and carry out more kidnappings in Kaduna and beyond. This is the new ‘modus operandi’ of those currently in charge of our state.”
