Ex-Councillor Arrested For Alleged Kidnapping In Delta

The Delta State Police Command has detained Ndubisi Okechukwu, a former councillor from Kwale’s Emu-Uno ward, on allegations of kidnapping. Edafe explained that CSP Florence Onum, DPO of the Abbi Division, acted on reliable intelligence about a possible kidnapping plan targeting a prominent member of the Abbi community. This led the Kwale Division team to conduct a covert investigation, culminating in the apprehension of Okechukwu.

Okechukwu allegedly disclosed that he was suspended from his position as councillor and intended to abduct the woman to coerce the local government into paying a ransom due to her close ties with the local government chairman.

The suspect is in police custody as investigations continue.
