Festive Break Alert: Rivers High Court Shuts Down December 23 

The Rivers State High Court will commence its Christmas break from Monday, December 23, 2024, to Thursday, January 2, 2025. During this period, a vacation judge will be available to handle urgent matters. Normal court activities are set to resume on Friday, January 10, 2025.

Similarly, judges of the Federal High Court of Nigeria are scheduled to begin their Christmas vacation on Monday, December 16, 2024, with regular sessions resuming on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

The Federal High Court’s schedule adheres to Order 46 Rule 4(C) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2019 (as amended). Key judicial divisions in Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt will remain functional, addressing critical cases such as fundamental rights enforcement and matters of national importance.

Vacation judges have been assigned to various divisions, including Justices Emeka Nwite and M.S. Liman in Abuja, and Justices Akintayo Aluko and Isaac Dipeolu in Lagos.
