More Money, More Responsibility: Wike Challenges FCT Staff After Implementing ₦70,000 Minimum Wage
Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has called on FCT Administration workers to enhance productivity following the implementation of the ₦70,000 minimum wage.This directive was announced shortly after the acting Head of Civil Service in the FCT, Grace Adayilo, confirmed Wike’s approval for the new wage structure.……READ MORE
During an inspection of the Abuja Division Court of Appeal road construction on Tuesday, Wike emphasized the need for workers to redouble their efforts, stating:
“I expect workers to see this as a morale booster and be more committed to achieving the city’s development goals. The payment of the arrears and adoption of ₦70,000 are part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to improve worker welfare.”
The minister also clarified that with increased benefits comes greater responsibility:
“Workers must not adopt a lax attitude simply because of the wage increase. It means more work and accountability are expected from them.”
