In a statement, Onanuga emphasized the importance of promoting unity and economic prosperity for Nigeria, regardless of political differences. He defended President Tinubu’s efforts to encourage both local and foreign investments, citing the significant influx of foreign capital into the Nigerian economy since Tinubu assumed office.
The Presidency also addressed allegations of conflict of interest involving Seyi Tinubu, the president’s son, stating that Seyi’s business dealings were established long before his father’s presidency and were conducted within legal bounds. They refuted claims of any wrongdoing in Seyi’s involvement with the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project.
Furthermore, the statement highlighted Atiku’s own historical conflicts of interest, pointing out his business links with Intels during his tenure as Vice President. The Presidency accused Atiku of hypocrisy, given his past actions, and defended President Tinubu’s administration against what they perceive as baseless attacks.
