Speaking at a high-level Customers Sales Forum held in Uyo, which convened prominent direct buying stakeholders including Bakers, Baker-Dealers, and Corporate buyers from Akwa Ibom state, FMN’s Head of Sales, Business to Business, Mr. John Maniatis, underscored the severity of the economic crisis gripping the nation.

“These are undeniably challenging times. We are amidst an economic crisis,” remarked Maniatis, addressing the apprehensions of the gathered customers. “The prevailing circumstances pose significant challenges to our business operations.”

Highlighting the adverse effects of the Naira-Dollar exchange rate volatility on FMN, Maniatis candidly admitted, “We are facing considerable challenges due to the fluctuations in the Naira-Dollar rate.”

However, amidst the sobering reality of the economic landscape, Maniatis offered a glimmer of hope, expressing confidence in Nigeria’s resilience and capacity to weather the storm. “While these times are undoubtedly difficult, we have faced crises before. Life moves in waves,” he remarked optimistically. “Nigerians are inherently resilient, and I am confident that brighter days lie ahead. It’s a matter of maintaining faith and perseverance.”

During the interactive sessions, customers echoed the sentiments of shared challenges prevalent across various sectors of the economy. They commended FMN for fostering open dialogue and urged the company to sustain regular engagements to collectively navigate through the prevailing economic turbulence for the long-term sustainability of their businesses.
