Four Impersonating EFCC Arrested In Nasarawa For Robbery And Abduction
The Nasarawa State Police Command has detained four individuals masquerading as EFCC officials for their involvement in robbing students at the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa and abducting one student identified as Adudu Kingsley, an ND II student….READ ALSO BREAKING: EFCC Arrests Sani, Gives Reason
According to DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer, the incident unfolded on April 17, 2024, when the suspects, operating in a Toyota Corolla, raided students at Samakwe Lodge behind Government College, Nasarawa LGA. Subsequently, they abducted Adudu Kingsley.
In response to a distress call, police operatives engaged in a pursuit, prompting the suspects to attempt an escape. Despite their efforts, the police managed to intercept them. However, one suspect was captured by an enraged mob and later succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at a local health care facility.
Following a thorough investigation, three additional suspects were apprehended: Hyelda Aliyu Ibrahim, Henry Patrick Okwu, and Shuaibu Abubakar (the operational driver). Among the exhibits retrieved from the suspects were smartphones and counterfeit EFCC identification cards.
Confessing to their crimes, the suspects admitted to terrorizing student-populated areas in Keffi and Nasarawa LGA. Law enforcement agencies are currently pursuing the remaining suspect, and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia, for further scrutiny.
Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada, affirmed that the suspects would face prosecution upon the completion of the investigation.
