During the inauguration, the governor stated that the commission’s activities would be closely monitored to ensure there is no misconduct, intimidation, or harassment of citizens. He explained that the revival of the Hisbah Commission aims to uphold Islamic values, culture, and discipline, promote societal re-orientation, and foster peace.

“Islam condemns all forms of immoral behavior,” Governor Aliyu remarked, adding that the Hisbah’s mission would be to eliminate social vices linked to negative attitudes and promote religious activities, which form a key part of his administration’s nine-point agenda.

The governor clarified that the Hisbah is not intended to function as a state police force but as an organized body to guide Muslims in the state. He further emphasized that any arrests made by Hisbah officers would be handed over to the appropriate security agencies for legal proceedings.

Governor Aliyu assured that operational support, including vehicles, motorcycles, and monthly financial allocations, would be consistently provided to ensure the commission’s effectiveness.
