Governor Abiodun Suspends Work On Friday For Local Government Elections

The holiday, announced by Governor Dapo Abiodun, is aimed at maximizing participation in the upcoming local government elections scheduled for Saturday, November 16, across the state’s 20 local government areas and 237 wards. The work-free day is intended to enable citizens to fulfill their civic duties without work-related hindrances.

Onasanya highlighted that this decision underscores Governor Abiodun’s commitment to promoting democratic participation and civic engagement throughout Ogun State.

Meanwhile, the Ogun State government mourns the loss of Hon. Tajudeen Egunjobi, the Special Adviser to Governor Abiodun on Housing, who passed away following a brief illness. Governor Abiodun praised Egunjobi for his hard work, loyalty, and significant contributions to the state’s housing sector, noting that Egunjobi’s impact will be felt for years. The State Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Jagunmolu Jamiu Omoniyi, also paid tribute, recognizing Egunjobi’s role in the success of the state’s housing initiatives.

In a statement on behalf of the family, Noah Tajudeen expressed gratitude for the support from the state government and conveyed good wishes for the governor’s future endeavors.
