The video, shared by businesswoman Nze Matilda (@bellz_beautybase on Instagram), was initially a celebration of her store’s reopening. However, Akorede’s impromptu dance stole the spotlight, touching hearts nationwide and inspiring a flood of generosity.
On Tuesday, Matilda began by delivering ₦250,000 to Akorede’s family, following an initial ₦100,000 donation. By Friday, contributions had soared to ₦1.1 million, with an anonymous donor committing to fund Akorede’s education through university.
By Saturday, the total exceeded ₦2 million. Matilda expressed gratitude and joy, saying:
“From ₦100,000 to over ₦2 million – this young boy is now a millionaire! His name, Akorede, meaning ‘one who brings wealth,’ has truly manifested. Thank you, God, for using me as an instrument to bless this family.”
