Gunmen Abduct RCCG Pastor And Others In Oyo

The incident, reported by Vanguard, occurred on Friday around 5 pm at the Maya axis of the Lanlate-Eruwa Road. Olawore, a pastor at Heavens Gate Parish, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Lagos Province 73, was returning from Ipapo town, where he was finalizing burial arrangements for his mother.

Deaconess Deborah Olawore, the pastor’s mother, was slated for burial with a Christian wake scheduled for next week Friday, April 26, followed by the burial on Friday, May 3rd.

Confirming the kidnapping case, the Oyo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso, stated that while some victims had been rescued, efforts were ongoing to secure the release of the remaining captives.

Osifeso assured that police operatives, in collaboration with other security agencies and local hunters, were actively engaged in combing the forest and surrounding areas to rescue the remaining victims and apprehend the perpetrators.

He added, “Some of the rescued victims are assisting with useful leads that can help the investigation. All routes around the area, including the adjoining forest areas, are being combed. Investigation is ongoing. Updates would be provided accordingly.
