How Vessel Stealing Nigerian Crude For 10 Years Was Nabbed
The surveillance company, TANTITA Security Services Limited, owned by former militant leader Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, has apprehended another significant vessel suspected of being used for stealing Nigerian assets.
The vessel, named “MT Tura II,” was intercepted in Ondo state by TANTITA security services in the early hours of Saturday.
It was found to be carrying 150 metric tonnes of stolen crude oil on the Escravos sea and was brought to Oporosa in Gbaramatu, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.

Rear Admiral Olusegun Feirrira, the Commander of JTF Operation Delta Safe (OPDS), confirmed the arrest and highlighted the collaborative effort between various security agencies in the region.
He mentioned the private surveillance company, TANTITA, as a crucial partner providing intelligence for the operations. The vessel was allegedly involved in the theft of crude oil from an abandoned oil wellhead off the coast of Escravos.
Captain Warredi Enisuoh, the Executive Director of Technical and Operations at TANTITA Security Services, emphasized the significance of apprehending the vessel.
He revealed that the vessel had been operating criminally for over ten years, changing its name and evading security agencies. The vessel had previously been arrested but managed to escape.
TANTITA had been monitoring its movements until it was finally caught in Ondo State. The vessel, originally named Ali-Riza-Bey, had altered its name to “MT Tura II” to avoid detection.
The arrested vessel has been handed over to the military Joint Task Force (JTF) Operation Delta Safe, which is responsible for combating criminal activities in the Niger Delta region.
Investigations are ongoing, and appropriate actions will be taken once the investigation is concluded.
