Abdullahi reportedly used scissors to carry out the heinous act and then proceeded to lock the corpse inside their house until late at night before raising an alarm. The police were alerted to the situation, and Abdullahi was taken into custody.

According to Funmi Odunlami, the state police public relations officer, the suspect informed a complainant about his wife’s death in the evening after she returned from church. Upon investigation, authorities recovered a pair of scissors with blood stains from the crime scene.

Preliminary findings suggest that the couple had ongoing disputes, particularly regarding the deceased’s previous marriage and her desire to check on her child. Tragically, Morenike, who was handicapped, suffered stab wounds to her stomach and neck, leading to her untimely demise.

The shocking incident underscores the need for swift and thorough investigation into cases of domestic violence, as well as increased awareness and support for victims of such violence.
