According to The Punch, former local government chairman Cafra Caino confirmed the attack, revealing that the assailants, armed and riding bikes and vehicles, swarmed the village around 5:45 am. The exact number of casualties remains uncertain as residents fled for safety upon the invaders’ arrival.

Caino noted that the Dogon-noma community has been repeatedly targeted by terrorists, citing a previous devastating attack in 2019 that claimed the lives of 74 individuals. The recent assault adds to the escalating insecurity in the region, with residents increasingly vulnerable to such brazen acts of violence.

This incident comes just days after a separate tragedy in the Banono Angwaku community within the same local government, where one person was killed, and eight women were abducted. Meanwhile, in another part of Kaduna State, the families of over 287 schoolchildren abducted in Kuriga village, Chikun Local Government Area, are grappling with demands for a staggering N1 billion ransom from the kidnappers.

The escalating violence underscores the urgent need for comprehensive security measures to safeguard communities and protect innocent lives in Kaduna State.
