The term “one chance” denotes a nefarious scheme where criminals, posing as commercial drivers, lure unsuspecting passengers into their vehicle only to rob them.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s Public Relations Officer, announced the arrest via social media, underscoring the syndicate’s focus on areas such as Itire, Aguda, Cele, and Surulere.

According to the statement, George was captured with a grey Toyota Camry, with ongoing efforts to apprehend his accomplices.

The swift action culminated in George’s arraignment and subsequent remand in prison custody until March 18, 2024, for further legal proceedings.

This arrest comes on the heels of a similar crackdown in January, where Lagos State Traffic Management Authority operatives nabbed a three-man one-chance gang at Jubilee Bridge in Abule-Egba, following a daring chase by vigilant members of the public.

The arrest highlights law enforcement’s commitment to curbing the menace of one-chance robberies and ensuring the safety of Lagos residents against such criminal activities.
