Man Allegedly St@bs Rival To D**th During Fight Over Girlfriend

Police in Mzuzu, Malawi, have arrested a 30-year-old man, Elias Chisale, over the alleged killing of a 23-year-old man, Aaron Odeni, following a dispute involving a woman they were both reportedly dating.

According to the Assistant Public Relations Officer of Mzuzu Police Station, Edson Chipeni, the incident occurred on September 13, 2026, at Malivenji Trading Centre.

Chipeni said Odeni was in an unfinished building chatting with his girlfriend when Chisale arrived and allegedly claimed that he was also in a relationship with the woman.

An argument reportedly broke out between the two men during the encounter. According to the police account, Chisale allegedly stabbed Odeni in the stomach, causing injuries that proved fatal at the scene.

The woman was also allegedly stabbed during the incident and sustained injuries. She was subsequently taken to Mzuzu Central Hospital, where she is receiving medical treatment.

Chipeni said police were alerted to the incident and launched an investigation, which led to Chisale’s arrest.

The suspect is expected to appear in court, where he will face charges including murder and acts intended to cause grievous harm.

The allegations against Chisale are yet to be determined by a court.
