The 27-year-old has not featured for United since being excluded from the squad by head coach Ruben Amorim ahead of the Manchester derby on December 12.

Last week, Amorim hinted at concerns over Rashford’s commitment, even suggesting he would rather name his 63-year-old goalkeeping coach on the bench than include the England international.

However, on Wednesday, the United manager acknowledged Rashford’s abilities, stating that his return to form could greatly benefit the team—but only if he meets the club’s expectations.

“Rashford is a top talent, and we could certainly use his skillset, but he must be willing to make adjustments,” Amorim said.

“If he’s ready to align with our standards, we would welcome him back. But in the end, it’s his decision.”

Rashford, who has been with Manchester United since the age of seven, has made over 400 appearances for the club, winning the Europa League, two FA Cups, and two EFL Cups.

He scored in Amorim’s debut match as manager—a 1-1 draw against Ipswich on November 24—and netted twice in a 4-0 victory over Everton a week later.

However, he was left out of the squad for United’s 2-1 win over Manchester City on December 15 and later expressed to journalist Henry Winter his desire for a new challenge.
