NAF Unleashes Night Fury, Wipes Out 25 Terrorists In Yobe, Borno

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced the successful elimination of more than 25 terrorists in a coordinated night airstrike conducted in Bula, Yobe State, and the Banki axis of Borno State.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.

Ejodame explained that the operation, carried out on September 18, was based on credible intelligence from ground troops regarding terrorist movements in the affected areas. He noted that a force package comprising Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) assets, alongside strike aircraft, tracked the suspects and identified multiple groups of fighters north of Banki.

According to him, real-time updates were transmitted to ground forces and base operations, allowing for a coordinated offensive. He revealed that the strike aircraft launched three successive precision attacks on terrorist movement routes and assembly points, neutralising over 25 fighters.

“Post-strike surveillance confirmed that ground troops maintained defensive positions, with no further threats observed,” Ejodame stated.

The spokesperson emphasised that the mission reflected the NAF’s steadfast commitment to backing ground forces and securing the North-East. He added that the operation not only disrupted the terrorists’ freedom of movement but also underscored the Air Force’s determination to sustain pressure on criminal groups destabilising the region.
