Adamu Omadefu, Chairman of the House Committee on Environment, issued this directive during a budget assessment meeting with the ministry’s management on Monday. Omadefu emphasized the urgency of addressing illegal mining due to its harmful effects on the environment and local communities.
Expressing the House’s concern over the increasing reports of illegal mining activities, Omadefu stated, “It is imperative that we have a detailed understanding of all existing mining sites to enforce regulations effectively and protect our natural resources.”
